Everything has gone according to plan.  We managed to avoid any counter currents and when the wind dropped to a 17 knot easterly we entered the Gulf Stream.  It was surprisingly smooth considering, giving us an extra 3 or 4 knots of speed.  We have been travelling at 12 knots for the past few hours.  At this moment we are 17 miles east of Cape Hatteras with just 120 miles to go to our first stop in Norfolk at the mouth of the Chesapeake Bay.
