The new mainsail, which spent nearly a week in Cincinatti (and was still there on Sunday night), suddenly arrived in Tortola at 7am on Monday morning.  We rushed back from our favourite anchorage, on Jost van Dyke, with the intention of collecting and fitting the sail, provisioning and checking out ready for a Tuesday morning departure.

Unfortunately the fittings on the sail did not fit the fittings on Anastasia’s mast.  The Harken C fittings on the mast have M12 bolts to secure the batten boxes, but the sail came with boxes that had M10 threads.  Nothing could be done until Tuesday morning, when Doyle BVI came and picked up the sail and re-threaded the boxes to fit our attachments.

Finally we have the new sail installed and we are provisioned and refuelled.  We have checked out with customs and immigration and will be sailing for the Bahamas tomorrow morning.  Time to go for a pizza in Road Town to celebrate.
