Each Galapagos island has its own species of giant tortoise.  The Darwin Centre in Santa Cruz looks after Lonesome George, the last of his particular species.  He is only "lonesome" in that he is the only one left, he has a couple of female tortoises of another species to keep him company.
The Darwin centre also has a collection of land iguanas.  The black marine iguanas are everywhere - on the seashore, in the streets, in peoples gardens - but we only saw the bronze-colored land iguanas in captivity.
