Last night we were visited by several seabirds and one red-footed booby has taken up residence.  We have tried encouraging him to fly back to the Galapagos but he is determined to make the trip with us.  I have no idea whether there are other boobies in the Marquesas, so this may be the first "Lonesome Booby".

In the radio net someone suggested setting a booby trap to capture it and then painting its feed black so it would fit in better in the Marquesas.  But if we are going to all the effort of capturing it then you have to wonder whether red footed boobies might not make good eating.
