We are now anchored in Puerto Baquerizo Moreno at the island of San Cristobal in the Galapagos archipelago.

Yesterday we went on an excellent boat trip organized by World ARC, where we saw all sorts of wildlife as we cruised in close to some of the rocky islands.  We also got to swim with sealions, turtles and sharks.

On the way out in our motor boat we passed Trompeta, a World ARC boat just coming in to port.
We cruised along rocky shores spotting sealions
and various kinds of birds.
Boobies are the bird everyone associates with Galapagos.  Most people have heard of blue footed boobies. These are actually Nazca boobies which are a species endemic to the Galapagos.  The white one is a baby booby.
We got to swim with sealions
and turtles.
Then we went out to a big rock called Kicker rock
and snorkelled through a gap in the rocks, where there were hammerhead and white tip sharks swimming below us.
