We moved from the moorings outside the village after sampling some coco nuts from two nice local ladies, and also paying the new taxes for Fakarava commune, which Kauehi belongs to. 55 Polynesian franc per person per day. And we did not forget the morning jogging either.
Where we are now are five or six other boats, and it is just a pleasure site. No services, just nature. The anchor dug in at first try. In sand, but with coral heads, "bummies" around. Just 7 knots of wind, 10 m deep, and no problem seeing the bottom. The sea holds 28 degrees. Low sun above, and soon afternoon coffee, before a glass of wine as a sundowner. Tomorrow we shall try the snorkeling possibilities.
