Yesterday we returned to Santa Marta after three days in Cartagena. Cartagena was very beautiful, especially the old historic town. When we arrived we discovered that we had made a bad mistake. (We don’t feel that it was all our fault, but that is of no importance, except for our self esteem.) We had reserved a hotel in Cartagena Spain! Luckily we were able to cancel the reservation and the second hotel we tried in Cartagena de Indias (Colombia) had a room for us. Very nice, and everything turned out well. (More later.)

 

Our bus on the way back to Santa Marta had a flat, and that was too much for the bus, so we had to change. hit happens, but luckily it happened 50 meters from a small resturant, so we could sit down for the hour it took before we could continue.

 

Well back it felt almost like coming home. And as a base we definetly prefer Santa Marta over Cartagena. Smaller, fewer tourists and friendly people.

 

We shall post some pictures later, but just now we need to overlook what we have to do before we leave for Kuna Yala (San Blas), probably Tuesday or Wedensday next week. We shall have to provision almost like for an Atlantic crossing.
