At six aclock this morning Lars reported clear skys with stars. After a dark night which was only enlighted by the blitzes from the thunderstorms, and rain, rain, rain, the message sounded too good to be true. We had passed the trough with all its small and bigger lows. We were through! And we had no squalls. Further north up to 70 kn of wind has been recorded. Again we experience that the advice from Mads in FreeWind is very good and relyable.
When Bjørn took over the watch from Eva at 0800UTC, the sun was rizing. Now it shines from a bright sky, and we have about 16 kn of wind from SE. We changed course for St. Luci. Next waypoint is 2100 Nm ahead of us. 24 C in the air. This feels like trade wind sailing!
The sun is now close to 2 hours after London time. The captain rules the ship’s time. We’ll change one hour any day now. It will be done by daytime. During night time we keep a tighter wach system, and the cruelty of prolonging the time of one of the watches wit one hour could perhaps cause mutiny...
