All well -satellite connection lost since Djibouti hence this is 1st blog possible.
Disaster though for the sails- the parasailor stayed up too long in increasing winds and taking it down was lost overboard! The halyard failed at the masthead. Getting the wind out of it to haul down the snuffer proved very difficult. On top of that the genoa furling has sheared its connection to the sail. We have been sailing under just genoa since the debacle with the PS and fortunately it has coped O.K unfurled with the 25kn+ winds today and overnight. Jybing is concerning as we have to change course and the following wind is either slightly off to left or right, but so far no damage. When the wind changes direction (usually around Suakin) we shall have to work out a new plan-maybe with storm jib. The wind is finally abating now (12-15kn apparent).
