Thursday 17th & Friday 18th Nov. 

After a nice walk along the beach we drove out the few miles to Nugget Point where a popular walk to the lighthouse gives impressive views of the rugged coast.

In the evening we ordered take away fish and chips from the bar on the beach and ejoyed a beer while we waited in the very tasteful rustic surroundings.

A sea lion was basking on the rocks below the precipitous path- too far down to get a decent photo. We returned to the point in the evening as a viewing hide overlooking Roaring Bay promised sight of penguins returning at dusk to their nests after a days fishing. The hide was already quite full with a dozen or so hopeful watchers but a couple of hours later just us and another english couple remained and were eventually rewarded with a solitary penguin waddling up the beach.
