Made Tahiti after a blustery crossing from Tuamotus but thankfully without further incident, other than a big swamping of the cockpit as a parting gift from the Pacific just as we thought we were out of the biggest of the waves and into the lee of the island.
There are masses of yachts here- mostly at anchor outside the marina. The marina is also prety full but they found us a spot alongside a wall which is nice. We plan to stay here just for one night -sort out our paperwork and then move round to the Tahiti Nautic Centre where I have a reservation for the cyclone season. It is supposed to be more sheltered there although I wonder if all these boats here are also going to stay for the cyclones to pass.
