We visited a couple of their sites, but saw very little wildlife. The Crooked Tree site wardens admitted the locals ate ‘bush meat’. Cockscomb has Jaguars but only the very lucky get to see them. Cockscomb has the most beautiful waterfall pool, it was heavenly. We also fitted in time for Spanish Lookout, a Mennonite site with amazing fast food and followed that with a visit to a chocolate farm, so a great trip around Belize.

ALtun Ha was our last Mayan site, famous for the jade head that was found here. The jade head is a Belizean national treasure kept in a dark vault with just a copy in the site’s museum. Again, impressive temples. The rest of the time we chilled out at the beach in Placencia.
