Off we go - again! 6/6/12

Stopped in Morehead City in N Carolina as we had no
wind after leaving Florida, so used half a tank of fuel, only for the wind to
pick up on our approach, leaving us with no choice but to surf through two lines
of breakers to get into the river. Surfing a 14 ton yacht is quite
interesting!
Eventually found our way to one of the smallest
marinas we have seen, called Morehead City Yacht Basin - a little optimistic in
the naming. This was right next to the commercial dock, which even at midnight
had a lorry loading, with reversing beeper, but even this couldn't keep us
awake.
It turns out Morehead City is the blue marlin sport
fishing capital of the world. One of the smaller boats in the marina was a
$4million sport fishing boat, which the owner only visited a few times a year,
mainly for the championship fishing competition with a first prize of $2million
dollars!
Filled up with fuel and off again. Caroline spotted
a ship just a couple of miles in front of us and unsure of her course we called
her on the radio - a Spanish Navy ship, who obviously had no idea we were
there!
Now a quarter of the way back from Florida to
Brighton, just under 3,000 miles to go.
