We
finished in the USA in Yosemite, no time for any more National
Parks. 2 nights before we left the dawn temperature was -1C. We
had to have camp fires in White Wolf campground; even though
Yosemite has no wolves, Caroline is convinced she saw a white
wolf. The following day there were magnificent healthy looking
coyotes in the campground, these animals never look away. We were
a long way away so Caroline got out to take a photo, these bold
animals stared and one stepped toward her. They were nowhere the
size of the 'wolf'.
Trees just grow everywhere

Guatemala
is humid, dirty, but very beautiful. The bar we visited ruled soft
drugs inside (cannabis) hard drugs (cocaine) outside. (No, we
didn't!) Things are a little different here. The barman at this
bar has been here for 9 years, speaks no Spanish (apparently
unnecessary as you can get by without) and gets to smoke pot
whilst working – described his job as the best in the world.
Chickens come with feet, neck and liver inside, perfect for making chicken soup which is very good here. Although bizarrely Caroline had to step over a chicken claw on the bridge walkway for a week (just a claw).
