Grand Staircase Escalante National Monument
Leaving Bryce there were roadworks meaning we had to follow a pilot car on the left side of the road. Whilst waiting we were told it might feel a bit strange driving on the left. Explaining to the lady we were English, she suggested we take a photograph and post it with 'America finally sees sense'. Another sign reading 'slow – road damage' translates to 'road disappeared down cliffside'. South West USA is full of cliff edges, mountains and box and slot canyons – we could never run out of hikes here. We are camping at Calf Creek Falls tonight, apparently a well known and unique feature in this monument. A very easy 6 mile hike to a beautiful waterfall, so a chill out day. |
