A Ranger led tour described as strenuous by the guides – it most definitely is not though – easy with a few tricky bits.

The Ranger led walks all seem to be used by Americans, all of whom have been great to chat to. Most Rangers have been very knowledgable about their own area.

The soil is very fragile in this area because bacteria clump sand grains together to form a brown crust which retains moisture and prevents erosion, but is very easily broken. Ranger Will had good wildlife knowledge, but like so many Americans, has never left the US.

We do the tours because everyone has so many positive things to say about their country, everyone has been good company and all the Rangers have taught us something new. The walks are almost secondary to the experience.
