A strange city (formerly New Edinburgh, Dunedin is the original Gaelic name for that city) with the Octagon providing Scottish looking buildings, it also has the steepest street in the world and the most photographed building in NZ (how do they know?) the railway station. Murray ran up the steepest street and wasn't even that much out of breath  - well Caroline was impressed..

The city has a brewery but sadly the outside pump only provides the spring water that makes the beer (tourists take an incredible million litres a year).

We are in heaven (thanks to Cherie)  as we were shown before we left Auckland a menu for a pizza take away that does a full menu including gluten free bases and to our delight found one of the chain here in Dunedin -  deep joy descended as we had pizza takeaway for the first time in about 2 years.
