Zion National Park
We had hoped to walk in the main park, but sadly a very large rockfall meant the closure of some walks for probably at least a year. The park was so crowded that we just left, it was much too busy for us so we walked the Kolob Arch trail. Quite strenuous as a big walk down and up, partly on soft sand and a surprising 17 miles instead of 14. At least we camped out on BLM land so had no neighbours. A short stay because of crowds and closures. We did this very long walk to see an arch that you couldn’t even find or walk to – good job it was a very enjoyable walk. 2 Americans spent an hour looking for the arch; some helpful person had added an arrow to the National Park sign and hence we found it. Yes, we are back in red rock country |
