Having purchased our anchoring permit, selecting area A although it isn't a problem to change area, we motored down, slap into wind and waves, but only for a total of 9 miles. The advice for this anchorage is 'DO NOT ENTER AT NIGHT'. The rocks are in unexpected places, unlit or even not marked. Good charts are essential, but even so it is not completely comfortable going into this anchorage. The holding is phenomenal, but as our area A is protected from waves, but not the 18 knot average wind it needs to be. The plus side is our wind generator meant we could run anything we wanted. We had a lovely time, snorkelled the tugboat wreck, ate out loads, had 4 beaches to choose from and a long walk around Flamingone lagoon. A week just zoomed past. We have searched and searched for the black seahorses but sadly found none. Back to the marina to work on the boat some more and await post.
