John Muir (revered for National Park work) provided the name for Muir Woods National Monument, which was fully booked for the day. The concept of a wood being fully booked is most strange. Anyway, stunning coastal redwoods that are that rare thing, untouched by human hand.

A walk in the woods was followed by wine tasting and yet more eating out in Sonoma. A charming day out and our first real time in the sunshine. We have heating on in our hotel room every day.
