Colombia - Bogota
Arrive Thursday, hotel didn't meet us (Booking.com message failure?) but nothing else went wrong. Good Friday – Lazy day, pottering about Bogota in and out of churches, all ornate, one with a gold altar. Confessionals have queues, choirs are singing and all the religious artefact shops are open. Tamales is a great gluten free lunch snack while aromatics are a mixture of herbs, spices, strained with nectar and honey, a lovely drink. However you cannot stay in the square and roads around our hotel after 6 o'clock; the beggars get up close and are very aggressive. As this city has a reputation for knife mugging we retire to our hotel room early. You could be forgiven for thinking you are in Greece |
