North Cascades National Park
Sadly, hunting was so prolific in this park that 50 years of it’s National Park status is not enough for the ecological balance to be re-established. The park is overrun with mice due to a lack of natural predators and the RV gained its first ever mouse. The volunteer at the visitor centre admitted she had transferred mice from the park all over the States. As some parks have bubonic plague this did not appear to be a very responsible attitude. We particularly did not want to transfer a mouse to a small island in the Puget Sound. We bought some traps, but thankfully the mouse decided to stay in the park and left the RV. The most glaciated park but the rainfall is high and roads we might otherwise have used were avoided due to the rain. So a relatively short visit and a much looked forward to trip to the San Juan Islands to be planned and booked meant a trip out to a town to find some wifi. Many mushrooms
