Leaving Antigua
The facilities at Jolly Harbour marina, apart from the Waitrose supermarket, are poor. Helen and Caroline will not miss the ladies loo, open to the public using all the restaurants and often without paper, nearly always dirty and only 2 out of 3 working. However, the other cruisers – Americans, Canadians and Brits, were all great fun. From drinks parties, coffee and beer in a bucket on the beach, and meals out with others, we had settled into a comfortable routine and knew most of the people on A jetty. It is always hard to leave a marina after you have but down a few roots. Our month was up, the weather was OK for just a couple of days, so we had to leave now or motor, so we left for a lovely sail to Anguilla. |
