We are moored in a beautiful anchorage next to the main town of Neiafu just down from the Port of Refuge. Mooring buoys are less than a fiver a day and there are plenty of good cheap restaurants to choose from - makes it difficult to get up the energy to leave.

The Friday yacht race adds grace to the anchorage.

The Tongan people are very different looking to the rest of Polynesia and have a traditional dress which is incorporated into the school uniform.

It is not possible to provision the yacht for a journey here, but there is plenty of good fresh food.

We are trying to summon up the energy to move out to an anchorage and explore the rest of this delightful archipelago.
