An immense feeling of passing back through time came over me in the Voyager Park; a small landing area opposite Emu Point where the cream of talented navigators, including Matthew Flinders and numerous botanists have landed and explored, gathering rare specimens to take home, many of which still languish at Kew Gardens in pressed and painted form. As you can see the weather was settling down to our favourable weather window. Sailors of history will have waited in these waters before they proceeded too.
