Miguel was our guide around Lima, as a boy he rode his BMX over this muddy hill which, upon archaeological  turned out to be a well preserved pre-inca temple with adobe bricks carefully set against eachother with a small gap between to allow for vibration.

In the tomb of Pissarro, the Spanish leader, there is this mosaic showing him dispatching any soldiers who would not fight, naked into boats to be cast adrift. Pre PTS days! 312 shows the light build of the cathedral, basically wattle and daub. The columns sounded hollow when tapped because they are made of bamboo, wood lathes and mud. The thin wooden dome has holes in it as the wood has shrunk in the dry climate. Only one to three mmls of rain per year means they are not worried about leaks. The cathedral has withstood many quakes.
