Walkabout from our Balavu Harbour anchorage
Tue 4 Sep 2018 22:55
Two of Zoonie’s tracks through tight fit passages in barrier reefs on route to Vanua Balavu. At least two thirds of the plantation around Balavu Harbour was destroyed with fallen coconut palms leaving sad gaps whereas the local flora and farm animals are doing alright. Coto took us on a walk to the viewpoint where our previous anchorage in Shoal Pass was just beneath us. She and her family sheltered in the forest near their camp as Cyclone Winston raged through during the night.
