Kas
Position 36:10.386N 29:38.966E 4th September 2012 Another hot trip motoring all the way to Kas, arriving
lunchtime. We planned to anchor in the large bay, Bavindir Limani,
adjacent to the town and we motored in slowly to look at our options. As we came closer to shore we saw a man waving an orange
flag at us and realised he was offering a berth on a small dock next to a
restaurant and beach area. He was so helpful, it seemed rude not to accept ! Another stunning setting, free mooring, free electric and
water, free sun beds and a very reasonably priced restaurant with home cooking –
perfect ! The swimming was very refreshing as several mountain springs
fed into the water at the beach. There was also a free taxi boat from our mooring to the town
where we had a wander through the enchanting streets behind the harbour. Lots of traditional Turkish wares for sale, glass lanterns, colourful
ceramics, glass ‘eyes’, lots of carpets and, or course, the famous
Turkish Barber shops where Men can get a shave, haircut, eyebrow trim, face wax,
facial and steam. They will also burn the hairs off your ears with a naked
flame ! Next stop Kekova Roads…… |
