The last few days we have caught up with our maintenance, the deck lights are now working again along with the steaming light.

We have refuelled which was quite an experience as the fuel arrives in 200litre drums on the back of a small truck and they pump it into the boat with what looks like a large version of an old fashioned hand whisk with a handle on the side. Luckily we only needed around 500 litres so a couple of hours later and we were full.

We have topped up with water, which was another experience as this arrives in a small bowser truck, the pipe was very short and wouldn’t reach so they went off and found an old fire hydrant hose to pump it into our tanks.

The laundry is still not back but since it is all hand washed by local families they rely on some sunshine to get things dry and we haven’t had any of that yet !

People here are very nice, they are always smiling and always very helpful.
