A good 10 hrs sleep but no time to clean our bottom! In the morning we tried calling the Customs/Police boat that
had requested our documents the previous evening but no answer, so we all set
off around 10.30am. As we were heading out of the bay the police boat sped over
to us and asked us to wait whilst they picked up their big boss to come and see
us. Miss Tippy had all our documents so approached the boat, but
they had other plans and headed directly for Sol Maria, tied along side and six
officials proceeded to board the yacht. We were all feeling a bit nervous, especially since Sol
Maria is the only yacht amongst us without an Indian visa (long story as kiwis
aren’t supposed to need one). After much discussion it transpired that the police launch
had the local dignitary on board along with the press and they wanted lots of
photos with the yachts for their local newspaper. It is probably the first time they have seen a yacht anchor
in the bay, let alone five yachts together! Lots of photos and waving and we were on our way. |
