Lots more rain showers today followed by a few waves over the deck but sunshine in between to dry us out !

The wind has settled in at 12-18 knots and we are sailing well on a broad reach (wind at 90 degrees) so our speed has improved.

The chart plotter is estimating arrival in 11 days if we continue at this rate which will make it a faster crossing than the Atlantic – but we shall see !!!

This ocean passage is just over 3000 miles and the Atlantic was 2900 so we were expecting to take a few more days than the 18 for the Atlantic trip.

Ashley has been very lively today, even washing up twice so he is settling in well !

Oh, how could I have forgotten to mention our achievement in the Friday night quiz – 8/10 and joint first – yes !

Having Ashley on board is certainly adding to our intellectual capabilities, we won’t mention the Atlantic result of 3/10 !
