We have been flying along all day at speeds of between 7.5 and 11 knots !

This morning we were very concerned when the generator stopped working however Mark traced it back to an overheating problem and found that the water inlet filters were completely blocked with seaweed and muck and lots of barnacles.

After cleaning them out and repriming them using the main engine everything is working well again. It was probably a good thing that the generator cut out to warn us of a problem instead of the main engine possibly overheating on our arrival at the moorings.

The waves built up early afternoon and were knocking us around making it very difficult to cook dinner.

We abandoned the planned fajitas and instead I threw a few carrots and some chicken and a tin of soup in the pressure cooker and held it in place on the stove whilst it cooked.

Four hours sleep and my watch now, 11pm to 3.00am, the seas have steadied and we have both headsails reefed in to keep us a bit more stable through the night however we are still flying, surfing off the waves at 9knots.

It has been great to sail in company with ‘Roundabout’ just ahead of us and ‘Jackamy’ just behind, we compare sail plans and course and night chats on the radio help to keep us awake!

This has been a fast trip and we expect to arrive in Bonaire tomorrow lunchtime, ½ a day ahead of schedule.
