Day 7
Position 06:49.76S 108:54.53W A busy day despite putting our clocks back again and gaining
an hour, local time here 0000 We have spent the day on course for a rendez vous with Miss
Tippy. Sheila transferred to another rally boat this morning to give some
nursing care and we plan to stand by in case further help is needed. Luckily Gaultine 3 are fairly close too with a full
compliment of 4 experienced crew – so they will hopefully be better able
to provide someone to help skipper the other yacht if necessary. This evening just as we were about to start dinner the
fishing reel went mad ‘zzzzzzzzzzzzz’ Mark slowed the boat and I reeled in a 10lb yellow fin tuna,
now filleted and in the fridge for tomorrow’s supper ! Ashley was first on watch tonight and heard a thud and
something hit the sun shade above the cockpit. He assumed it must be a bird until he discovered a big
flying fish inside the cabin thrashing around the floor ! Ashley kept cool and caught it with the tea towel and threw
it back overboard. Home baked rolls this morning which turned out very
professional. |
