……Still in Gibraltar catching up with ‘jobs’ in preparation for the start of the rally.

Mark has fixed the transom light and two of the fans, I have programmed the Sat phone with emergency numbers and the SSB long range radio with the rally frequencies.

A couple more things have gone wrong, the anchor decided to launch itself and pour out chain and we could only stop it by turning off the main fuse switch, it seems the switch has failed. One more fan has just given up and after testing the lifebuoy lights, we found one wouldn’t work at all and the other wouldn’t stop until the battery had run out. So more parts to collect from the UK!

We have also ordered fly screens for the opening windows to keep out the mosquitoes and a basket for Mark’s bike – which he is very thrilled about !

This morning we had coffee with Sheila and Brian from ‘Miss Tippy’, a new Oyster 56, it was great to meet them and have a look around each others boats.

Tonight we are going to dinner on Bill & Sues’ boat with another couple, Glenda & Ian, who have just arrived in Gibraltar, so we are looking forward to that too.

We are then spending a few days catching up with friends and family in the UK  - so exciting !
