It is 2330 and we have met up with the other group sooner than expected because one of the yachts, Natibou, has got caught in fishing nets as they were heading out from the anchorage. The other yachts in their group are standing by and were planning to wait until morning to cut the nets free.

Our group have stopped to give assistance, Sol Maria have launched their dinghy and three divers, Gavin, Brian and Paul are now on Natibou helping to free them so that we can all be on our way.

We have just heard on the VHF that the mission is accomplished and Natibou are now moving and negotiating their way through the rest of the nets inshore.

What good news – it would have been a long night for their group to stand by offshore and our group were not comfortable sailing on by and not helping.

We will all keep off shore to avoid the huge web of nets and will soon be on our way again.

Let’s hope the rest of the night is uneventful.
