We arrived in Tonga Friday lunchtime and tied up on the concrete quay for clearance.

Four officials visited and each expected a complimentary beer while they completed their paperwork !

Customs, Health, Immigration and Quarantine -  they were all very friendly and we were soon cleared to pick up a buoy and go ashore to find the bank and some lunch !

It is very different than we expected, quite poor with weird supermarkets selling anything from bags of flour to men’s formal dress shoes.

There is music everywhere and lots of little restaurants.

An example of the laid back attitude….

We enquired at ‘The Lobster House’ about dinner and to look at their menu and they were very accommodating. When we asked if they had everything available on the menu the answer was ‘yes, everything except Lobster’.

I don’t think there were any dishes that didn’t have lobster in them!
