We arrived in the very expensive marina at Antalya, checked in and jumped on the number 1 bus to meet Mum & Dad for dinner in their hotel.

The hotel was very modern with everything white except for the dining room which was all red !

It was lovely to see Mum & Dad, the last time they visited us was in Sri Lanka in Jan 2011, and the last time they came on Blue Magic was in Antigua, Christmas 2009, although we have been home several times to see them since then.

Katie arrived the following day and we all went to the airport so that she had a welcoming committee when she arrived.

We spent the week relaxing by the pool at the hotel…..

It was very luxurious, the staff bought us complimentary cold flannels, iced drinks and Turkish tea.

Sightseeing…….

We visited the nearby town of Kemer where we took the cable car 2650m up mount Tahtali to take in the views

and watch people paragliding off the top.

On our way down we could see the bay at Phaselis where we moored a few days previously.

We found a little holiday resort along the route back where we had lunch.

Mum & Dad had booked Blue Magic for a cruising day so on Sunday we took them to a little bay around

the coast where we swam and had lunch on board.

Mum stood and looked out all the way – she looked like the Queen going down the Thames !

It was lovely clear, warm water.

We made sure to use all the hotel facilities including the water park next door, much to Dad’s dismay as we weren’t actually staying at the hotel ourselves !

I am sure they were happy to have us, buying drinks and lunches each day.

A couple of evenings were spent wandering around the narrow alleyways of the old town and Bazaar which meandered down to the old harbour.

It was very pretty with several terrace restaurants overlooking the harbour. One evening we had a mediocre meal with views over

the harbour and on our next visit we had a fantastic meal in a courtyard restaurant in one of the old Ottoman buildings where the owners

offered lots of Turkish speciality dishes.

We bought local China, Turkish delight and silver jewellery from the local shops and enjoyed a bit of bartering on the prices !

A lovely week hampered only by 11 visits to the Vodaphone shop, a visit to the tax office and a visit to Immigration to try and get Marks phone working with a Turkish SIM – very expensive and time consuming !

On the morning of 18th September we said goodbye to Mum & Dad at their hotel and headed next door to see the Dolphin show with Katie.

Very entertaining although we worried about the Dolphins being kept in captivity, we hoped that they had been rescued and that it was not safe to release them.

We dropped Katie at the airport later that evening, stopping on the way back for supplies ready to leave for Alanya the next morning.
