Galapagos News
Firstly apologies for the lack of recent updates, we have
been very busy! Last Saturday we had a big shock when David from ‘Roundabout’
was taken ill and had to fly to hospital on the mainland along with Joe. We became instant surrogate parents to Eddie & Suzannah
with lots of help from ‘The Tippies’ and Joe & Davids’
guests who were staying aboard. We had a couple of organised rally events, Sunday lunch,
beach and swimming followed by Pacific briefing and rally party on Monday and the
children enjoyed coming along and participating. During the quieter moments we kept them occupied with DVD’s,
chocolate donuts, ice cream, biscuits and sprite ! We were all looking forward to our cruise and David &
Joe were hoping to fly back in time to join us on the ship. However, Tuesday evening bought another big shock when we
learnt that our travel agents in the Wednesday morning was spent with frantic negotiations and
eventually an agreement was reached which involved everyone (36 of us) paying
again on credit card whilst we waited for payment to clear and hopefully be
refunded. Finally the tour went ahead several hours late – but we were
all very relieved ! Meanwhile we received a message from David & Joe that
they had missed their flight and couldn’t get another one until the
following day. Our next mission was therefore to find a motor launch to
pick them up from the airport and bring them to the cruise ship which would be
following a strict itinerary and therefore some distance away from the airport. A Happy ending - next episode tomorrow…….. |
