The wind shifted a bit in the night and I had to call all hands on deck at 5.00am to get the twistle rig down as it was slamming around.

Tea and biscuits followed with lots of ribbing about how I just wanted a bit of company on my watch.

I have made bread and scones this morning, great bread but the scones haven’t risen, we will have to eat them anyway as I am running out of ingredients !

They are sure to taste the same once they are smothered in jam and cream.

A short break whilst we re set the twistle rig, all the boys are on deck again and I am in control of course, sheets and furling plus a few action shots with the camera !

They are getting quite expert at putting up the poles and adjusting the twistle.

We realise that food is quite an obsession on board, yesterday we had a cockpit party at lunchtime to celebrate crossing the halfway mark.

Garlic bread, Sweet potato wedges with sweet chilli dip, toasts with cream cheese and parma ham, Spanish ‘tortilla’ omelette, pate toasts with onion and cucumber and cheese with apple wedges, all washed down with a nice Petit Chablis.

After spiced rum sundowners Adam then cooked a fantastic thai green curry for dinner.
