The night watches went to plan, although just after midnight the moon seemed to fall over and disappear over the horizon leaving us in complete darkness just at the beginning of Paul’s first night watch !

Today I am posting a diary of our day to give you an insight of a typical day at sea…….

0945 Make bread

1000 Radio net – position reports of all other yachts

1030 Put twistle rig up for sailing – all of us on deck

1040 Cook bread

1100 Furl sails, twistle rig down as no wind, engine on

1200 Eat bread – delicious

1300 sleep, sun bathing, reading

1500 Eat more bread – delicious

1530 Excercises – takes less time than eating the bread

1630 Line goes – caught fish but it escapes when reeling it in

1700 Small local open boat with two gypsies on board passes close – shouting at us (they are 30 miles off shore, not sure what they were saying)

1730 Showers

1745 More wind, Twistle up again

We are having chilli for supper tonight and then it will be back to the night shift.
