Wednesday 18th November

We sailed through the night with fluky winds as dark clouds passed overhead, Blue Magic demanded lots of attention by frequently needing course changes to follow the wind and keep her happy without the sails flogging and backing.

This morning the seas have flattened to a more moderate sea and so we have all had showers, and I baked bread.

The fresh bread has all been consumed and the crew are now sleeping it off in the sunshine while we gently sail along with the twistle rig up averaging around 5 knots of speed.

We are currently 400 miles North of Cape Verdes, heading West and hoping that the trade winds fill in a little more to push us on to Antigua.

Despite religiously trailing our ‘no fail’ squid like bate from two rods every day we have not caught any fish, except a small flying fish that gave itself up and jumped onto the deck !
