La Trinitee

Isle de Houat Well, we arrived at the anchorage at around 4pm after
a successful spot of fishing with Annie catching 5 mackeral for our dinner. The strong winds forecast appeared very suddenly by
around 6pm with gusts of 35-40 knots (force 8). The rest of the fleet had a
very bumpy final part of their trip but we were able to guide them into the
anchorage and confirm that it was sheltered and good holding ground. The night was uncomfortable and we headed into La
Trinitee first thing, arriving in a lovely bustling holiday town late morning
where we went ashore for coffee but settled for moules frites and a bottle of
Vin as is our usual custom ! The local Raymarine dealer has ordered our spare part
and is hopeful to fit it on Tues morning before we leave. Richard, from rally control, has kindly delivered a
spare motor for our aft toilet and Mark has successfully fitted it and it is
working, much to his surprise and everyone elses ! After all Mark’s hard work in the loo Katie and
I washed, scrubbed and polished the boat while Mark recovered and relaxed in
the sun. We had a great steak ashore followed by another
disturbed night being jostled against the pontoon and at 4.00am we were outside
in our waterproofs fending off in the rain for an hour until the tide turned –
arghh ! We have wandered around the market and restocked at
the local supermarket and then we joined the rest of the rally for a nice meal
ashore last night (Sat) followed by a good nights sleep – peace at last ! Today, Sunday, is raining and so we are going to
catch the local train into Hopefully we will catch up with some of the yachts at
various ports on route. We plan to visit Benodet and then head for The bikes have come in handy for the morning
croissant run – yummy ! Chris, Mark, Katie, Tom & Annie |
