We dodged the rain showers yesterday and went out of the passé and into the next one to anchor off the town of Uturoa.

The town was not very pretty but there was a good fresh produce market and a supermarket and one restaurant – Chinese !

We had a lovely meal and then a bumpy, wet dinghy ride back to the boat.

The anchorage was very exposed to the winds and so this afternoon we have motored inside the lagoon to the next island of Tahaa and we are anchored in a more protected bay called Baie Haamene just off a small village and Turtle sanctuary.  

We are hoping the heavy rain showers subside tomorrow so that we can visit the turtles.
