Our Ship arrived in Salalah on 26th May and, after four hot, busy days loading the yachts we finally flew out of Oman on Tuesday 31st May.

We flew to Muscat and then onto Dubai that day, then stayed two nights in Dubai to catch the early morning connection to Istanbul on Thursday 2nd June.

Hotels have been booked on arrival, in Dubai we sat in the Ibis reception and used the free Wi Fi to book our rooms as it was cheaper over the internet. In Istanbul yesterday we were dropped off with bags in tow and one of the Guest House owners took pity on us and looked after the luggage whilst we went from Hotel to Hotel to find accommodation.

It is very busy here and very expensive, we found a room for one night and today we move just up the road for another few nights.

Istanbul is lovely, it is so nice to be back to European culture, we even had a beer and ‘people watched’ after booking our hotels, not a hobby that we could enjoy in Salalah !

Today we are going sightseeing and then we need to think about hiring a car to drive the 500 miles down to Marmaris.

We haven’t had time for the relief to sink in yet, but I am sure once the yachts arrive we will begin to relax.

Thank you to everyone who helped in the whole evacuation process from Salalah, it was a long and tedious few months and we really appreciate all the input from those people.
