We had a delightful few days anchored off the beach, in the bay at Katapolis on the Island of Amorgos.

A very long line ashore secured us in position, the first time we have used our panama warps since transiting the Panama canal in February 2010.

Although the town was quiet it is obviously a thriving little holiday resort in the height of summer as there are numerous rooms and pretty Tavernas scattered around the bay.

While the weather remained unsettled we hired a scooter and explored the island, visiting the main town of Hora which has an impressive monastery set into a rock towering above the town.
