Day 14

Blue Magic
Mark & Chris Dewey
Fri 27 Nov 2009 15:07

Position 19:38.517N 47:35.800W

Everyone spent a few hours polishing this morning until the clouds collected overhead and the wind picked up with squalls of 30 knots.

We all retreated back to the safety of the cockpit and once the wind settled to 20 knots we hoisted the twistle and we are now flying along at over 9 knots.

The gooseneck is still presenting us with a few problems and we are keeping a close watch on it, hammering the bolt back into position every time it begins to work loose, we have also made a temporary fitting to hold it in place.

The crew all have big smiles on their faces and we are steaming – just hit 10 knots (10.1 is the record so far this trip) – the chart plotter has recalculated the time to go and reduced it by a whole day !
