Great excitement today when the reel screamed and we could see an enormous Marlin jumping out of the water at the end of the line.

Malc did his best but, even the break full on, it took the rest of the line and disappeared leaving the reel smoking hot !

A few minutes later we had a call from ‘Roundabout’ to say they had landed a six foot yellow fin tuna !

David has a lot more line and a bigger reel and managed to get the fish close enough to gaff it and haul it on board – what an achievement !

I wouldn’t fancy gutting that one.

We think one of our mistakes is not stopping the boat quick enough – so we are working on a plan ready for next time.
