An exhilarating sail 35 miles to the next island of Levitha.

The winds were still very fresh and we had between a force 6 and 8 all the way, sailing along at 9 knots with just a very small headsail up.

Our wind instrument recorded a maximum of 55.5 knots (storm force 10/11), the highest wind speed yet on Blue Magic !

We were glad to arrive in the tiny protected anchorage and pick up a mooring buoy around 4pm.

The anchorage soon filled up with charter yachts getting some respite from the high winds.

One of them had been heading in the opposite direction to us (what madness into those winds), when their mainsail blew out, they soon turned around and followed us into the anchorage where they furled out the shredded sail and took it down !

A day of relaxing and amusing ourselves by watching the antics of the charter boats leave this morning and another set arrive this afternoon.

We have seen some very inventive ways of picking up a mooring buoy including sending a crew member into the water with the rope between his teeth to swim for the buoy !
