We are sailing the traditional route across the Atlantic which was first sailed by Christopher Columbus in 1492.

Columbus left from the Canaries, the Island of La Gomera, and he completed the voyage 4 times, the two fastest of which took 21 days, an excellent time even by today’s standards.

Our starting point of Lanzarote is 250 miles or 1 ½ days further than the passage from La Gomera.

Today we have had a cracking sail, averaging around 6 knots under main and genoa.

My daily exercise class is lacking students, only one has turned up so far !
