Yesterday we discovered another beautiful bay in Tahaa and we picked up a buoy from Sophie’s Boutique.

I quickly improvised and said to Mark ..”the pilot book says we can stay here free for the night as long as we buy something in Sophie’s Boutique”

Mark thought this sounded a good proposition so we launched the dinghy and went over to a small landing dock

to find the boutique

What a delightful way to go shopping – much prettier than a shopping mall !

The shop contained all sorts of local handicrafts and we purchased a jar of jam (pamplemousse, mango and vanilla) and

a pearl clasp for my new sarong.

Sophie was very charming and suggested we walk through her gardens to the road as the walk was very pretty and there were

good views over the bay.

 What a handsome yacht !

The tree to the right is a

Papaya tree with lots of fruit

and a lovely carved bark

There were also bread fruit trees

Coconut palms and pamplemouse

trees all laden with fruit and

growing along the hedgerow.
